Why the name Northern Moonlight?
I named Northern Moonlight after my village in the Philippines, Bullanan. Its root word is Bulan, which means moon in our local dialect. It is located in the northern part of the Philippines.
Bullanan is actually a "sitio" of Barangay Hapao, Hungduan (Municipal), Ifugao(Province). Sitio is derived from the Spanish word, which means "place." The Spanish subdivided various settlements during the Spanish era and called them different names for organizational purposes. Sitio is a part of a "Barangay." Barangay (in the Philippines) is a small territorial and administrative district forming the most local level of government (source: Definitions from Oxford Languages).
Ifugao is one of the provinces that comprise the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). It is situated in the mountainous region of the northern Philippines.
Hence, the brand name Northern Moonlight!
The Logo:
I have designed the logo to commemorate my origin. I have added the snow on top of the mountains to honour Canada, the country that adopted me. The three stars symbolize the three island groups of the Philippines - Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, a.k.a Luzviminda.
